Training/Education

Poetry and Fiction workshop courses with Dennis Schmitz and Richard Bankowsky, respectively, at CA State University (1984-85), and Poetry workshop courses at Carnegie Mellon with Gerald Costanzo in the late '80's, are the extent of my formal training.

Nominations for inclusion in the Pushcart Anthology

2012: "Pergolesi / Mayfield--'Live!'", Golden Sparrow Literary Review, posted November 2011. The publication was short-lived, unfortunately, but it's still online.

Also 2012: "Lost Love Blues," Kansas City Voices, Whispering Prairie Press, Kansas City, Kansas, Volume 9, 2011. A print publication, but the poem's in the issue preview.

2019: "Yellow, Early September, Late Evening, Cherrywood Lane" (its original publication), Twyckenham Notes, South Bend, Indiana, Issue Six, Sept. 2018.  (There's audio of me reading the poem on the website.)
